Big Red Cats - Guide and Assistant Cat Ski Guide Positions

Live in beautiful Rossland BC, and go back to your own home every night!  

Lodging not provided.  Lunch provided and staff dinner discount in restaurant. HQ is at 4420 Red Mountain Rd Rossland BC.

Alpine Guide - Supervisor:

(ACMG: Ski Guide, CSGA: Lead Guide)


*Certified Ski/Snowboard Guide (Level 3 CSGA or ACMG Ski Guide or foreign equivalent)

*Level 2 Avalanche Technician (Canadian Avalanche Association) minimum, level 3 preferred.  Or foreign equivalent.

*Advanced First Aid Attendant (80+ hours)

*Outstanding skiing or snowboarding skills

*Extra languages a plus: French, Spanish, Italian, German, Norwegian visitors are common

*Previous experience with Big Red Cats terrain and systems preferred

*References will be checked


$350-400 per day 

Full-time, part-time, and casual positions available

Includes lunch and restaurant discount, but not lodging.

*Certified Ski/Snowboard Guide (Level 2 CSGA or ACMG Apprentice Guide or foreign equivalent)

*Level 2 Avalanche Technician (Canadian Avalanche Association)

*Advanced First Aid Attendant (80+ hours)

*Outstanding skiing or snowboarding skills; CSIA2 or coaching qualification required, high-level racing experience well-regarded


$250-300 per day, depending on experience.  Includes lunch, but not lodging

Tail Guides:

Big Red Cats also hires tail guides, and trains new tail guides.

Minimum qualifications to join as a tail guide:

CAA Level 1 Ski Operations

CSGA Level 1

CSIA Level 2 or alpine FIS racing/coaching experience

80-hour First Aid

Class 4 driver's license

Tail guide wage starts at $120/day and increases with experience and qualifications to $150/day


Photographer Contractors :

We'll give you a seat in the cat, and a lunch, and in return we just take a 25% cut of what you sell and you keep 75%

You need your own equipment (camera and computer), excellent photography skills, and strong skiing/boarding skills

Ski patrol or guiding experience an asset, as is CAA1

Strong interpersonal skills required, the ability to edit/delete photos on-the-go during the day in order to present a slideshow quickly during aprs-ski at the restaurant, and sell photos in a personable manner

Strong computer skills required, in order to Airdrop/Dropbox photos or burn to USB in a timely manner
